The Thirty-Nine Steps Presented by Studio One

May 9, 2017 by Rob Leave a Comment

Friday was Glenn Ford‘s birthday, which I learned from Radio Classics on SiriusXM radio, which I do list to from from time to time, especially if SHE WHO MUST NOT BE BLOGGED is not in the car.  To celebrate, they were playing radio plays in which he participated. Studio One was a radio and later television anthology series of plays, films, and literary classics dramatized for the home audience.  I really enjoyed the program linked below, where Ford plays the main characters in a a radio adaptation of the original novel by John Buchan, which you can read for free from gutenberg.org. It also happens to be one of my favorite Hitchcock films.  The Criterion edition is excellent.
